1959 Fender Jazzmaster Blond

This killer 1959 Fender Jazzmaster in original Blond finish over Ash body has survived in 100% original condition and plays like a dream! It's a lightweight example weighing in at 7.8 lbs. The brown Tolex case that it's been housed in since new dates to 1961, so it's possible that this took a year or two to sell at the dealership when new.

Measurements: 7.8lbs (3.55 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.65" wide at the nut, 0.80" deep at the first fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 8.80k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 8.30k ohms.

Dates: As is common with Fender guitars from 1959, the neck heel doesn't have a pencil date (typical until early 1960). The bridge pickup cavity reads "8/59". The potentiometer codes read "137 9126" (137 = CTS, 9 = 1959, and 26 = 26th week of the year).

Originality: All parts, finish, and solder are original to this guitar.

Playability: Very good. The frets are low after being nicely leveled and dressed so there's not buzzing anywhere. Players who like to bend notes may find the frets too low.

Condition: Good with a 1" moisture intrusion mark on the top edge of the neck and some finish damage from sitting on a vinyl cable on the back of the body.

Included: The original case is included that appears to date to 1961.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
